We also determine how deep they will be. You will then be given a local anesthetic so that the procedure is painless for you. A "gap" is created in the muscles from the inside of the cheek. A special suture then ensures that this indentation is also visible from the outside in the form of smile dimples. The treatment takes an average of 30 minutes and you can go home afterwards. In the coming days, you should pay attention to your dental and oral hygiene, use mouth rinses and avoid alcohol and cigarettes.

If you have plump or particularly narrow cheeks, the result may be less visible than you might want. Like any other surgical treatment, complications can occur with dimple surgery. However, these are very rare, as the procedure is short and very safe. If, contrary to expectations, they do occur, hematomas, swelling or redness may form. As a rule, these phenomena disappear in the days following the procedure. Wound healing problems usually occur if the operated area is not adequately cared for. We will give you tips and instructions on how to optimally support wound healing and thus prevent wound healing disorders. This includes thorough dental and oral care - especially before going to bed and after eating.
