More and more young men and also women suffer from severe, partly hereditary hair loss and wish nothing more than to go out in public again without shame and hiding. They feel uncomfortable when others notice bald patches on the scalp or when the receding hairline is pronounced.

Hair transplantation can solve this problem and give you back your thick hair without gaps. For this purpose, our experienced specialists in plastic and aesthetic surgery take hair roots from a densely overgrown area and transplant them to the places that have become light or bald. This in no way creates new bald spots, but your hair appears thick and full.

With the treatment, many men and women have already regained their self-confidence and now dare to meet their friends or go to work without a cap again.

In order to fill in the thinning areas of your scalp, methods have steadily evolved in recent years. In the past, it was still necessary to remove a strip of skin in order to extract the hair roots from there. At Medical INN, we use a gentler and more gentle method that does not require any incisions - the so-called FUE technique or Follicular Unit Extraction. Here we extract individual hair roots and can work more precisely. The donor hairs are taken from densely overgrown areas. Relatively few hairs are needed to fill even larger bald patches. For this reason, there are no gaps in the donor area and you get full hair all around.

Hair transplantation is not only suitable for the scalp. We can also use it to fill in your beard or eyebrows and create a densely overgrown, gap-free result. Even on scarred skin it is possible to insert the hair roots.

Before the procedure, you will receive a detailed consultation with one of our experienced specialists in plastic and cosmetic surgery. During this consultation, we will analyze how severe your hair loss is and how many hairs need to be transplanted. Of course, you can ask all your questions during this consultation, which we will answer comprehensively. At the same time, we will explain to you how the treatment will proceed and what you need to keep in mind afterwards. If you decide to undergo hair transplantation, we will make an appointment for the procedure.

On the day of the treatment we will record in which area the hair will be implanted. If you have receding hairline or receding hairline, we will draw where the hairline should be. We pay attention to your wishes so that at the end of the procedure your hair looks the way you have wanted it for a long time. If you are satisfied and agree with the drawing, we start the hair transplantation, which takes about 3-8 hours depending on the amount.

The hair follicles are removed with a very thin cannula. You will be given a local anesthetic so that you do not feel any pain. Hair by hair, we now fill in the light or bald spots on your scalp.

The donor hair can be obtained in two different ways:

1.strip method (now used only for rare indications).
A strip of scalp is removed under local anesthesia, then the wound is sutured together and this piece of scalp tissue is then cut into small pieces of tissue which are then grafted back into the thinning area on the patient's head. This method creates a linear scar in the donor area, which should be covered by the patient's hair (if it is long). The recovery time is approximately 2 weeks. The stitches must be removed by medical personnel.

2.Follicular Unit Extraction or Micro-FUE Harvesting
Individual hair follicles are removed under local anesthesia; this micro removal uses tiny hairs between 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm in diameter. Each follicle is then implanted back into the scalp in the thinning area using a microblade. Because individual follicles are removed, there are only small, punctate scars and post-operative pain is minimized. Since no sutures need to be removed, recovery from FUE takes only 7 days.
With the new "Gold Standard" for ultra-precise hair transplantation of follicular units, more than 50 pieces of tissue can be placed in one square centimeter, also known as "Dense Packing".

The time after hair transplantation has a significant influence on the final result. It is important to be careful with your scalp during the first days and weeks, so that the inserted hair roots can become firmly anchored. A scab will form in the recipient area. It is important that you do not scrape off this scab, because by doing so you will tear the hair roots out of the skin again. In order for the scab to gently detach, we recommend a particularly gentle shampoo as well as a soothing lotion. In addition, you will receive a head covering with which you cover your hair during the first few days. This will protect the still sensitive area from the sun's rays or other environmental influences. To avoid friction while sleeping, we also recommend a neck pillow.

Despite careful handling, hair will fall out within the first 30 days after the procedure. Do not worry, because this is a normal reaction to the "shock" of the hair because of the transplantation. Nevertheless, the root remains anchored in the skin. As a result, the hair will start to grow after 2-3 months. At first very thin and after another 6-9 months more and more dense. The final result you will see after about 1 year.

To improve your result and promote ingrowth of hair roots, at Medical INN we perform the so-called biological hair transplantation. It is a therapy with nanofat PRP. This is a serum consisting of your own fat and platelet-rich plasma from your blood. This serum is rich in nutrients and thus stimulates cell regeneration. The effect is that the transplanted hair grows faster, firmer and thicker, with less shedding during the growth phase.

The additional PRP treatment is usually performed 3-5 times at intervals of about 4 weeks.

For the first few days, the newly inserted hairs in the recipient area still sit loosely in the scalp. Therefore, it is important to take care of your scalp during the first days and keep it as dry as possible. Sweat from sports or sunbathing can cause the hair roots to fall out. Therefore, it is important that you take a break from sports for about 3 weeks.

We recommend waiting about 2 months before coloring or blow-drying your hair again. Styling products that do not come into contact with the scalp can be used again after about 7 days.

The fine needle creates tiny punctures that leave a scar as the wound heals. However, this scar is so small that it is only visible when you look closely. In addition, the scars are covered by your hair, so no one will see you.

If you have a non-strenuous job, you can (theoretically) return to work the next day. However, please follow the care instructions that we will explain to you after the hair transplantation. Physically strenuous work should only be resumed after 2-3 weeks.
