Genetics or jewelry can cause the ear cartilage to protrude or the earlobe to become floppy and begin to droop. Ear correction can reverse these appearances. Piercings on the ear, stretched ear holes (tunnels) or even heavy earrings can stretch the tissue on the earlobe and widen the ear hole. We can also correct this with a short procedure, so that you can wear small earrings again without problems and the appearance is firmer.

Based on your wishes and the current situation, your doctor will determine which method is suitable for you and present it to you in detail. Of course, he will also answer all your questions and address your concerns. You will then make an appointment for the procedure to be performed.

At this appointment, depending on the method, you will receive a local anesthetic, a light twilight sleep, or a general anesthetic for an extensive procedure. After the operation you can go home. In the coming days, you will make several follow-up appointments with our experienced team. In this we will check the wound healing and give you further tips on how to support it. Depending on the procedure, you should wear the protective bandage for a few days and then put it on at night for about 2 weeks. This protects the wound and minimizes risks such as opening of the sutures, infections or others. After about 1 week, you can return to your work. You will hardly see the scars after they heal. Our plastic and aesthetic surgeons take great care to place them in places that you and others will hardly notice.

Ear correction can correct a number of aesthetic problems. These include, for example, asymmetries, protruding and pointed ears. But also sagging or stretched earlobes.

The purpose of ear correction is not to improve hearing.

Ear correction takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the extent and method. During the consultation, our specialists can give a more accurate estimate regarding the duration.

After the operation, throbbing pain may occur. For this you will get a prescription for painkillers from our team. Protective bandages will be worn day and night for 2 weeks and another 2 weeks at night only to aid in healing. Stitches that do not dissolve will be removed approximately 2 weeks after surgery. Contact sports or other activities that may rub the ears should be avoided for approximately 4 weeks.

You can return to work or school about 1 week after surgery if you have a job that is not physically demanding.

You can see the result of your ear correction after the bandages are removed. This usually happens the next day.
